Penile Doppler: state-of-the-art equipment for accurate diagnosis
Penile ultrasound with Doppler is an exam that allows studying the anatomy of the penis.
In addition to the images, the doppler will add the ability to check blood flow in the penis, to diagnose possible blockages in the penile (cavernous) arteries or venous leakage, which prevents the patient from having a quality erection.
How is the the penile echodoppler?
To perform the penile echo Doppler, a medication is applied that will make the patient's penis erect.
The application is quite easy and practically painless, it only lasts 3 seconds. The entire exam takes about 30 minutes.
In this ultrasound of the penis, we evaluated the entire internal structure of the organ (corpus cavernosa, tunica albuginea, corpus spongiosum) and, mainly, the cavernous arteries, with a Color Doppler ultrasound transducer.
After the examination, the erection process is reversed and the patient can return to his usual activities.
